A great milestone for our partner Maastricht Marketing, as Maastricht was declared the strongest city brand in the Netherlands, according to Hendrik Beerda Brand Consultancy's Cities & Regions Brand Survey. The city was particularly praised for its combination of appreciation, bonding and brand personality. It is the first time that the Limburg city grabs the number one position in the ranking.
The top position in the list is a great achievement after years of consistent and strong brand development. Maastricht Marketing plays a central role in this. At the strategic level, a lot of hard work went into Maastricht's national and international positioning. Stronger visibility was built and target groups were broadened. The efforts are now being amply rewarded. The Dutch associate Maastricht with all kinds of positive characteristics, such as 'sympathetic', 'unique', 'gentle' and 'cheerful'. Maastricht residents themselves are also unabatedly positive about their city. They say they are proud of Maastricht and feel a strong connection with the city. The result: a great first place in the Cities & Regions Brands survey.
This fantastic achievement shows how hard work on strategic brand development pays off. It is also a great example of the power of years of collaboration. As brand director, Maastricht Marketing works on the Maastricht city brand together with entrepreneurs, cultural institutions and other parties. Insiders also contributes as a strategic partner. For instance, we supported the online translation of the brand identity, with the 'icing on the cake' being a completely on-brand online inspiration platform that was recently launched. Great to see what such collaborations ultimately bring about.
We congratulate our partner Maastricht Marketing on this well-deserved achievement! We are proud to have contributed to Maastricht's (online) brand strategy for 10 years now. It is a joy to work with the team of Maastricht Marketing on such an ambitious plan.
